Jenny is a Certified Financial Planner with 36 years’ experience, the majority of which (just) have been with GTC. Jenny has developed expertise in a wide range of relevant topics contributing to a professionally structured financial wellness programme. Structuring trusts, estate plans, holistic asset management, multi-management and investment analytics are within Jenny repertoire.
Jenny is a member of the Financial Planning Institute of Southern Africa, holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning and a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Law and Anthropology from Wits University. She has maintained many of her financial interests that pre-date her career with GTC and she holds the Professional Banker designation of the Institute of Bankers in South Africa and is a member of the Investment Analysts Society of Southern Africa.
Jenny’s work-life-balance sees continued relationship management with clients together with increased quality time with family, friends, and horses.
Ian has 45 years’ experience in the financial advisory industry and has been assisting clients over this period to construct and realise their financial plans. Ian integrated his business with GTC in 2016 having operated his own independent financial advisory business since resigning as a regional manager of a large life insurance company in 2011.
Over his career Ian has won numerous awards, recognising both his financial planning talents and his capabilities as a manager. The integration of Ian’s clients and Ian himself into the GTC family has been an easy and successful fit. Ian is married to Heidi, they have three children. Ian enjoys international travel, scuba diving and “old mans” mountain biking. Ian was a DJ in his youth and still enjoys playing the guitar for anyone who will listen.
Ralph, one of GTC’s longest serving staff members, has been with GTC for some 23 years and has some 33 years industry experience. Prior to joining GTC, Ralph provided financial advice within the banking sector. Ralph has his Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning and is a registered ember of the Financial Planning Institute.
Well-known to many GTC private clients, some of whom would regard Ralph as far more than just a professional advisor, Ralph is an empathetic listener and a careful and considered advisor, has a well-established work ethic and highly values the quality of integrity. Ralph lives the work-life-balance well and when he is not engaged with clients, he enjoys most outdoor activities and is a keen cyclist. He has completed two treks in the Himalaya’s, one to Everest base camp and the other in the Manaslu region.
Ralph is married to Parma, enjoys reading and is a Liverpool supporter.
Zee has worked in GTC’s healthcare for 12 years and collectively has over 16 years of healthcare consulting experience. Prior to joining GTC, Zee’s healthcare experience was gained in the banking and life insurance sectors.
Zee is a member of the Women in Finance Network and serves as a representative on the Employment Equity committee at GTC. Zee is a qualified wealth manager and has much experience consulting both to corporate and individual clients.
Zee has a daughter Andisiwe, and she loves the arts.
Head – Fiduciary Services
Trisca has 24 years’ experience in the fiduciary industry and holds a B-Iris and LLB degree. Trisca is a certified Fiduciary Practitioner of South Africa (FPSA) and also a member of the Fiduciary Institute of South Africa (FISA).
Trisca joined GTC in July 2018. Her fields of expertise include deceased estate administration, advising on and drafting of Wills and assisting with estate planning. She also assists with consulting on various fiduciary matters and is often consulted for her thought leadership by various South African publications.
Trisca is a farm girl at heart and loves everything South African, especially braaibroodjies and coffee.
Roger’s entrepreneurial background places him in a unique position to speak from experience and with authority when dealing with High Net Worth Clients, Employee Benefits Clients and Financial Planning Practitioners. His experience is underpinned by 30 years in financial services, backed up by a B.Comm (Accounting) degree and a Post Graduate diploma in Financial Planning. He is a registered Certified Financial Planner and has held several directorships and senior management positions in various companies in the industry over the past 20 years. Roger has always maintained a broad network of associates and colleagues as a result.
Roger is married with two children, loves music, cycling, running, making beer, and watching his son play cricket, in no particular order.
Andrew is a Certified Financial Planner with 8 years’ experience in the financial services industry, 7 of which have been with GTC. He works predominantly as a wealth manager, though also works closely with the Employee Benefits consulting team to ensure individual members of the retirement funds under GTC’s administration are exposed to GTC’s full range of products and services. Andrew attained a Bachelor of Social Sciences degree, majoring in Economics and Industrial Psychology, from Rhodes University before completing his Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning through the University of the Free State. Andrew enjoys football, golf, the beach and the bush.
Keith joined GTC in 2014 and is passionate about helping individuals and institutions reach their financial freedom. Keith is an accredited financial advisor with experience in retirement planning, investment and private client wealth management. Keith has a strong academic background and holds a B. Comm degree in Economics and Business Management (Cum Laude), B. Comm degree with Honours in Financial Management, Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning and a Masters Degree in Financial Management from Rhodes University.
Keith is married to Bessie and a he is a proud father to two children. In his spare time, he enjoys playing tennis.
Head – Risk Solutions
Roy has over 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry, having joined the industry immediately after finishing university. The bulk of his experience has been in the short-term insurance arena. Roy spent a decade at a leading niche insurer, where he held various senior management positions.
After relocating to Cape Town, he jointly established one of the largest independent short-term insurance brokerages in the country. In 2008 he sold this holding in the company and successfully established a specialist underwriting management company. In 2011 Roy assisted in establishing a bespoke short-term insurance brokerage specialising in designing and administering niche products.
Together with GTC, Roy established GTC Risk Solutions in 2016.
Roy spends most of his leisure time in the garden or on the golf course.
Thabo joined GTC in 2019 and is a young and vibrant financial services professional who is passionate about the financial wellness of his clients. He undertakes a holistic, advice and client-centric financial planning approach; which covers investment planning (local and offshore), education planning, business assurance, employee benefits, risk planning (death, disability, critical illness), estate planning, tax planning, debt management, and budgeting. Thabo attained his B. Comm Honours degree Financial Planning from UJ and is currently studying towards his CFP.
He started his career in the offshore investment arena and has experience in this regard. Before joining GTC, Thabo gained banking and insurance experience.
Thabo is an avid car enthusiast and enjoys spending his time-off expanding his knowledge base across various worldly matters through documentaries and reading.
Prior to joining GTC in 2019, Mtho worked in asset management, specialising in building income solutions for retired clients. Now part of GTC’s dynamic advisory team, Mtho helps clients reach their personal financial goals through a process of holistic financial planning.
Mtho has 8 years’ experience in the financial services industry in various roles encompassing estate planning, risk and tax planning as well as retirement fund consulting. Mtho has a strong academic background, holding a B. Comm degree in Economics and a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning. He also holds the Professional Banker designation with the Institute of Bankers South Africa.
Mtho is passionate about boxing and spends every morning at his local gym. He also enjoys reading and spending time with friends and family.
Martin joined GTC in 2007, after previously working at a large financial services company in South Africa. Martin’s business responsibilities lie in the private client wealth management space, where he has some 22 years of experience. He provides holistic financial wellness advice to both individual and corporate clients.
Martin attained his Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning through the University of the Free State in 2003, and spends his free time on the golf course, in the bush and with his family.
Andre has worked in the financial services industry since 2001, experienced in both employee benefits and private client wealth management. Andre assists clients with holistic financial wellness planning, taking their current lifestyle into account when planning future goals.
His undergraduate degree was completed in 2011, which was through night school at Wits University, majoring in investments and business management.
Andre’s postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning was completed in 2012, Cum Laude, through the University of Free State. He was immediately accepted as a Certified Financial Planner as per his experience and qualifications. Furthermore, Andre was invited into the Golden Key Society based on his results.
Andre loves spending time with his family and friends, as well as watching football and the odd documentary.
Head – Investment analytics
Clive, head of Investment Analytics at GTC, is responsible for leading a team of investment professionals who provide a wide range of investment services including multi-management and asset consulting services. He is a Certified Financial Planner and a qualified Chartered Financial Analyst.
Clive began his career in London in 1999, before returning to South Africa, where he worked at some of the country’s largest financial service companies. In 2014 Clive joined GTC where he has been integrally involved in offering clients’ investment advice and asset management products. Clive is a regular thought leadership contributor and presenter at various industry conferences and training events.
Clive is married and life outside the office revolves around his wife Shannon, their four children and the occasional trail run.
Warwick is an experienced Employee Benefits Consultant, skilled in all the functions of employee benefits and retirement funds. He has over 40 years extensive experience in the industry and is a Certified Financial Planner and a member of The Financial Planning Institute. Prior to joining GTC in 2005, his previous engagement involved the management of national sales and marketing of the employee benefits division of a well-established life insurance company.
Warwick is a sponsor appointed trustee of the GTC Umbrella Pension and Provident Funds, a role that allows him to assist clients in implementing and managing competitive employee benefit packages that meet the needs of both employees and employers.
Warwick is married to Carolyn, enjoying his free time in the bush and playing/watching golf.
Head – healthcare consulting
Jill, holds an Advanced Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning from the University of the Free State – focussed on Employee Benefits – , is a Certified Financial Planner and is a serving non-executive director on the Financial Planning Institute’s Board, serving on several related FPI sub-committees.
Jill, having sold her business to GTC in 2012, provides ongoing Employee Benefits consulting services whilst heading up the Healthcare division of GTC, where she provides detailed insight and strategic advice to corporate clients on the structuring of their healthcare programmes.
Jill is a serial thought leader and presenter on various national stages, often being the go-to person when the mainstream press is seeking an industry perspective on healthcare and retirement fund related topics.
Married to Gary, a mother of three, and proud new grandmother to Sasha. Jill enjoys most sports, especially mountain biking and stage races in the bush. Jill has represented 4 provincial teams and 1 national, in 3 different sports.
Sabir has 30 years extensive experience in the industry in the fields of legal/contractual and consulting, the last three being with GTC. He holds a BA LLB degree and is a full member of the Pension Lawyers Association. Sabir is an experienced Employee Benefits consultant, skilled in all the functions of employee benefits and retirement funds.
Sabir has worked with both large institutions and private organisations, managing insured, freestanding and umbrella portfolios. Apart from consulting to a portfolio of clients, he provides advice on employee benefit legal matters to various Boards of Trustees and clients.
Recently established by the Present, the Independent Commission for the Remuneration of Office Bearers engaged Sabir as their specialist retirement fund consultant.
Toy has been with GTC for some 15 years and has over 40 years’ experience in the employee benefits industry. Technically well qualified with a BSc Honours degree (Mathematics) and a Master of Business Leadership, Toy spent the first 15 years of his business life in the actuarial divisions of a number of insurance companies.
Over his career Toy has worked in all spheres of employee benefits with insurance companies, a large listed company and as an intermediary. Toy heads the GTC team of Benefit Consultant s as well as consulting directly to a number of significant corporate clients of GTC
Married to Linda, Toy loves driving through the Karoo, playing golf (although skill not aligned with passion), visiting wine farms in the Robertson valley and spending time with family.
Altertude – the client engagement interface which combines all of GTC’s various products and services for the benefit of each fund member – is facilitated by a team of professional, accredited financial advisors within GTC.
The personnel within the Member Advice Portal Support (MAPS) team are all experienced planners, each of whom has the unique additional discipline of being knowledgeable about your retirement fund rules, group risk and tax structure, including the specific dispensation that applies to the in-fund options (which are not known, and cannot be accessed by independent financial advisors).
Most team members have extensive retirement fund benefit consulting experience too. All of them are uniquely positioned to provide the single point of unified financial advice that GTC so strongly advocates, merging a client’s retirement fund benefits with the personalised planning that will always be unique to each investor.
Within the MAPS team there are specialists in all sectors that make up a holistic financial wellness programme. These disciplines include retirement funds, discretionary investing, risk, short-term insurance, wills, estate planning and tax.
